This year Easter falls early, on March 31.
Last year it rolled around on April 8. Next year? April 20.
So if you’re confused about how the dates are calculated, you’re not alone. Searches for “when is Easter” are peaking, according to Google Trends, and although the date is easy enough to find, the reason behind it is somewhat convoluted.

Easter also known to Christians as Pascha or Pasch is  a christian festival to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after the crucifixion at Calvary  as described in the New Testament Easter is the culmination of the Passion of Christ, preceded by Lent, a forty-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance. The last week of Lent is called Holy Week, and it contains the days of the Easter Triduum, including Maundy Thursday (also known as Holy Thursday), commemorating the Last Supper and its preceding foot washing as well as Good Friday, commemorating the crucifixion and death of Jesus.Easter is followed by a fifty-day period called Eastertide or the Easter Season, ending with Pentecost Sunday.


Now, lots of people celebrate Easter in different ways, some Christians stay at home and have fun with their loved ones and friends. Why some others go out to Fast foods, travel to Big cities and out of the country.

Do you ever wonder how people residing in Akwa Ibom that do not have enough money to take a First (1st) Class Flight to the Bahamas,To Miami beach or To Israel just to celebrate the Easter period celebrate theirs?

Well here in Akwa Ibom State, they're lots of fun places to visit when there's a celebration going on.
Like today the 31st of March i'm here at the Ibom Tropicana, and the place is filled up, you barely have a place to sit or stand. When the chairs are filled up thats when people start sitting on the rug carpet.

Today, hundreds of thousands of tickets have been reported sold out.
People say Ibom Tropicana is the best place to enjoy the Easter celebration. I cant argue that cause it actually is.

Some other places people visit during festive periods are the Ibeno Beach, at Eket which is also one of the nicest place to spend time with your family without disturbance. And also the popularly known LOVE garden in Akwa Ibom State close to the Museum is a place where a family can go out and have a picnic.
