Four dead, 20 injured as explosion hits Ogun State

At least four persons have been confirmed dead and scores of others seriously injured in an explosion that rocked a factory in Ijako area of Sango-Ota, Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State yesterday.

It was gathered that the explosion was caused by one the boilers of a distilling company located along the Lagos – Abeokuta expressway.
Some co-workers of the victims who spoke with newsmen lamented the loss of their four colleagues.

At the scene of the incident, two ambulances of the neighbouring companies were seen evacuating both the injured and the dead to the hospital.

Some of them were however, said to have been rejected by a private hospital at Ogba – Ayo in Sango before they were later taken to Ifo General Hospital for treatment.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Muyiwa Adejobi confirmed the incident but said only two persons were unlucky.
