reaching our news desk has it that Nigeria’s leading financial institution
Guarantee Trust Bank Plc has stormed the campus of the University of Uyo
for brand activation campaign and account opening promotions that will afford
students and staff of the institution to open free bank accounts and receive
free ATM cards.
This was
confirmed in a chat with Mr. Ahmed Akinsemoyin of STRANDS COMMUNICATION during
one of his trips to Uyo to conclude adequate logistics required to host a
successful campaign.
The GT Bank
brand promotion on campus is a tour of 30 Federal institutions of higher
learning in different regions of the country, handled by STRANDS COMMUNICATION
& EVENTS, organizers of the annual Bon
Marche Trade Fair across Nigeria’s leading institutions of higher learning.
That of the
University of Uyo is scheduled to hold at the UniUyo Mini Stadium and will run
from Monday, March 18th through March 22nd, 2013. During
the period, asides opening free bank accounts with ATM cards, the students will
also be introduced and enlighten on mobile banking, in the quest for a cashless
society in Nigeria.
Mr. Ahmed also
seized the opportunity to thank the Registrar and Director of General
Administration of the University of Uyo for supporting the initiative, noting
that it is good to encourage saving and financial prudence amongst the student,
and GT Bank, being a youth friendly bank, has packages to suit the upward
mobile youths, he added.
